NYC, SharkFace 2, Cans and Bands 2

I was thinking about saying “NYC 1” but then realized that it looked lame rather than consistent. Hm…

So many things have been in the works that I’ve completely forgotten to write! But alas, I know you want to hear about how lovely NYC was. It was Julian’s first time, as well as Lavola’s- we tried not to waste a moment of it. Our show at Fontana’s was well-received by both friends and newcomers. I’m actually unsure of how I’m not deaf, since it was louder than any show in a while (louder DOES mean better, FYI). It was hectic trying to navigate the subway (and various neighborhoods) with all of our gear, but it was worth it in the end. Luckily, we had New Yorker and guitarist-turned-bassist Mikey James both filling in and helping us navigate the city on show night. Frankly, I’ve always loved New York; but getting to experience it musically opened my heart (and eyes) to all that the big apple has to offer.

Now that we’re back home, we have a few shows coming up at which we need to see everyone. But before I get into that- did all you Lavola fans know that this Friday (HALLOWEEN!) is Julian’s birthday? Hear ye, hear ye! The hot box shall reign supreme! But really. It is his birthday, so send him some love. Or sweets. I hear he has a sweet tooth. And if you’re still in celebration mode, you should come out to our Miami bash this Saturday. We’ll be playing at Sharkface 2 at 6pm. Get your tickets now and save some cash!

Or, if you’re more of a do-gooder rather than a festival-and-shark-loving concert goer, prepare to be awed by Cans & Bands 2! Joining us for this event with be our friends from the Astrea Corp, The Howling Winds and The Thieving Hand. They all chose to do this out of the goodness of their hearts, so do something good too and come out! Three cans of food or five bucks gets you in to Propaganda on November 7th. You’ll be giving to the community and getting some awesome tunes. What more could you want?!

That’s all for now. I hope everyone has a safe-albeit-slightly-pants-crappingly-frightening All Hallow’s Eve. (Lie to me and tell me you’re all going as cats.)

Love,
Em
